Ghost Hunts

HISTORY

The Skirrid Inn is a grade II listed building and is believed to be the oldest pub in Wales.

The inn has also been used as a courtroom and place of execution in its past. It is believed that as many as 180 prisoners were tried and executed there. A wooden beam inside still bears the rope marks made when people were hanged.

HAUNTINGS

Resident spirits are varied and include a sheep rustler, a clergyman and soldiers.

Poltergeist activity is strong. Heavy furniture moves on its own and doors have been known to slam by themselves.

Whispers, cackling laughter and heavy footsteps are often heard and people report feelings from uneasy to downright scared when they visit.
