Ryecroft Hall was a home built in 1849.
The building was a voluntary hospital during World War I and the cellars were used as a morgue.
Many original features still remain in the hall including wood panelling and decorative ceilings.
The Coronation Street fans amongst us might like to know that the hall has been used for several wedding scenes for the show.
There is an interesting collection of spirits haunting the hall. There are believed to be children, soldiers, a nurse and a woman in a mop cap still residing in the house.
Disembodied voices and footsteps are heard. Shadows are seen and unexplained, bad smells experienced.
Poltergeist activity is reported, with items said to be thrown by unseen hands. Most bizarre are the mysterious cigarette butts found when no one has been in the building.
Ryecroft Hall has the perfect haunted house exterior. Will the interior live up to it? Now you can find out…..
