RAF Binbrook was a Royal Air Force station built in 1939. It was used by the Bomber Command in World War II. The Royal Australian AirForce used the site from 1943. It was taken over by the Central Fighter Establishment after the war.
The base ceased use in service in 1980. It was used for a short time by the police force as a training site.
Much of the site is now demolished but hangers and offices remain, including The Officer’s Mess.
Many Airforce personnel are still seen wandering the grounds and buildings.
There are also children believed to haunt the site who are held responsible for the countless mischievous poltergeist happenings. Activity has been described as not being malevolent or scary, but very strong!
