Ghost Hunts

The Old Nick Theatre has a nod to its history in its name. Built in 1850, it was originally a police station.

The Divisional Headquarters of Lincolnshire Police used the building from 1850 until 1974. It also housed the magistrates court. The Gainsborough Theatre Company took over the use of the building in 1979.

You can also visit The Old Nick Police Museum here.

Many undesirables were held in the cells below what is now the theatre. Their graffiti can still be seen on the walls.

The Old Nick Theatre is home to many spirits. Unsurprisingly prisoners as well as a judge, an old woman and children.

Audible activity reported includes whispered conversations, whistling and heavy footsteps.

Reports include an unexplained burning smell. Also, full bodied apparitions and a LOT of poltergeist activity.

The building has an fascinating diverse history. Are you ready to experience it?
