Margam Castle was built during the Victorian Gothic revival. It is actually a manor house built to resemble a castle.
There is much evidence to suggest there has been life of the grounds for over 4,000 years. Relics found on the grounds date back to Bronze and Iron Ages, and there is strong evidence of Roman and Celtic habitation. The original Margam Manor stood from 1536 to 1787 on the site now occupied by the orangery.
During the night on June 1898 there was a murder! A poacher killed gamekeeper Robert Scott on the grounds.
Spirits include children, a pilot and a monk, as well as the poacher.
Experiences include poltergeist activity, full bodied apparitions and children’s giggling.
Interesting photos have been taken and EVPs recorded.
It seems the ghosts of Margam Castle are ready to be known….
