Built in 1823, Jedburgh Jail was a debtor’s prison for men, women and children.
Many prisoners were executed on the grounds.
A castle, known as Jethart Castle, existed on the site previous to the prison, which was built by King David I. It was demolished in 1409.
Jedburgh Jail has its fair share of recorded paranormal activity.
Poltergeist activity is experienced regularly, with doors slamming on their own and pebbles being thrown at visitors.
Full bodied apparitions have been witnessed, as well as shadow figures.
Chilling, disembodied screams are heard, and many people experience failures with their technological equipment.
I think prisons are some of the creepiest, yet most fascinating places to investigate. Do you dare?
