Ghost Hunts

The Falstaffs Experience is a museum located in Shrieve’s House. The building was built in the 1500s and was originally a tavern.

There was a previous home on the site from 1196.

As you can imagine with a building with such extensive history, there are many interesting facts that come with it.

The building sits on no fewer than five Ley Lines! A possible explanation for the abundance of paranormal activity experienced. The house has hidden priest holes and secret chambers. William Shrieve, who was the first recorded tenant of the house, was an archer to King Henry VIII. The building received a certificate from the Wiccan Institute “in recognition of a greater amount of paranormal and spirit activity than any other building/site”.

There is said to be a serial killer that haunts the building and he is rumoured to have committed his crimes in the building when it served as an inn.

There are many other spirits also believed to be haunting Shrieves House, including soldiers, children and an ancient spirit.

Many unexplained noises are heard and full bodied apparitions are seen. Most creepy, I think, is the deep laughter that is often heard.

There is a rich history associated with The Falstaffs Experience. Are you ready to discover who remains?
