HISTORY

Cannock Chase forest is an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty in Staffordshire. Whilst it has many outdoor recreational activities to entertain, it also has a darker side.

A prisoner of war camp existed in the area in World War I holding German prisoners.

The focus of this investigation lies at ‘The Castle Circle’, remnants of a fortification dating back 2,000 years. It is also believed to be the site of an ancient burial ground.

HAUNTINGS

The site has many reports of paranormal activity. Black eyed children are said to haunt the area, and strange banging and chanting is often heard around the ring.

Other reports venture into other areas of the paranormal, with tales of Bigfoot type creatures roaming, U.F.O’s and aliens being sighted, as well as wolves and panthers!

Do you dare brave Cannock Chase woods in the dark of night? I don’t think there’s many that would!

YOUR HOSTS: Haunting Nights

YOUR EVENT: Join The Haunted Nights Team as we take you to the mysterious Cannock Chase   Literally hundreds of years of reported hauntings and mysterious sightings,  are waiting for you as Haunting Nights take you on a ghost hunting experience like no other   This area of the Chase is probably one of the earliest parts of the District to have been populated with the impressive earthworks of the monument being built over 2,000 years ago….some say it is a portal to another dimension ….   Eye witnesses have reported the sighting of black eyed children moving around in the centre of the ring, white ghostly figures are often seen in the same areas, noises of hammering, chanting and singing.  Yeti or Bigfoot type creatures in the surrounding woods, Wolves, Black Panthers, U.F.Os, Aliens, Earth Lights………. In fact, there is so much alleged activity at the ring we just have no idea what spooky happenings the night will bring   The Castle Ring is also thought to be a pagan burial site, experts believe the dead would have been buried just outside of the castle in burial mounds. There are a few large mounds which are like burial mounds found elsewhere in the UK.    Our base for the night dates back to the 1600’s, this former toll gate cottage now an Inn is just a stones throw from the ring and has had numerous reports of paranormal activity for many years. A former Landlord, staff and visitors to the inn have witnessed ghostly figures, floating orbs and inexplicable temperature changes in the areas which date back to the 1600s. Some of the locals that Haunting Nights have spoken to claim the activity is linked to the death of a former landlady in 1969, whilst others believe the inn’s proximity to iron age hill fort, Castle Ring could be the real reason

Throughout the night tea/coffee and light refreshments will be available .  Haunting Nights looks forward to welcoming you to this fabulous location.  Terms and Conditions apply.
