Farming has always been a dangerous occupation. The arrival of the Industrial Revolution in the late 1700s did nothing but increase these dangers. Machinery and tractors were suddenly on hand to the job that man and beast had managed for hundreds of years previously. As well as the benefits, they came with added danger. Many lives have been lost as a result of accidents with machinery. Is this the reason many farms are affected by hauntings?
Maybe it’s the dedication to the job that means that those who once farmed for a living feel like they can’t move on when their time has come? Are they still tending their flocks and herds? Reaping their crops and enjoying the long summer evenings in the countryside?
